What is this?
Dark Arts Theater is THE horror and heavy metal podcast. Join host J. Thorn in a celebration of his favorite movies, music and books. Don’t be afraid of the dark—embrace it.
How is the show being released?
The show is structured like a magazine with each “volume” containing ten “issues.” Each issue is unique and diverse and includes fascinating interviews, killer music videos, dramatic short stories and lots and lots of hair.
I’m a one-man show. Other than purchasing some stock photos and videos, I’ve done EVERYTHING myself—writing, production, video editing, sound design, web design, distribution—all of it. I’m not trying to impress you (are you impressed?), but rather, I want to explain why it will take months until the next volume is released. Leaving reviews on iTunes and subscribing on YouTube will go a LONG way in motivating me to get working on the next volume.
Who are you?
Hello! [in my best Troy McClure voice] My name is J. Thorn and you may remember me from such internet classics as The Horror Writers Podcast, Zombie Jeopardy and Headbanging for Arthritics.
Seriously. I’m J. and I write scary stories. I love everything dark fantasy, horror and heavy metal. If you’re just dying to know more, you can read my full bio on my official website at http://jthorn.net/about-me/. I even have a YouTube video of a talk I gave chronicling the biggest, most epic fail an author could possibly make. Laugh with me, not at me.
Why are you doing this?
I’m doing this because I love it. That being said, I’ve already spent hundreds of dollars and hundreds of hours on this project. If you like it and want me to produce more, you can help me in a few simple ways:
1. Make a donation to the show via PayPal.
2. Purchase my books from http://jthorn.net/books/
Dark Arts Theater is totally free. Whether you watch it on YouTube or listen on iTunes, you’ll never pay for it. A little donation or royalty will help offset the show expenses.
How do I get my band/myself/my cat featured on Dark Arts Theater?
Hit me up from the contact page. I can’t make any promises, as I map out the volumes months in advance and have limited slots available. But please reach out if you’re interested.
Are you the coolest dude in horror and heavy metal?
