Dark Arts Theater 2.4 – Inside the House of Broken Promises with Arthur Seay
Arthur Seay’s riffs will melt your face off. The guitarist for Unida and House of Broken Promises talks to J. about life on the road, the DIY attitude and why those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Throw in a little gear talk and you’ve got a cool issue for all the six string fiends out there.

1.1 – World Premiere –
Join me for the world premiere of Dark Arts Theater, a jam-packed issue full of the best heavy music and horror. Crank it to ten with music videos by doom rockers Venomin James (courtesy of Auburn Records) and desert rock veterans House of Broken Promises (courtesy of Small Stone Records). Get frightened by Edgar Allan Poe’s classic, “The Raven,” narrated by audio book superstar, Simon Whistler. Succumb to the wicked charm of Richard Long’s cinematic trailer for The Book of Paul and hear what Lee Child has in store for you with his latest Jack Reacher novel, Personal. Turn it up as The Atomic Bitchwax (courtesy of Tee Pee Records) delivers riffs of sonic delight throughout the issue. I’m just getting started…

Dark Arts Theater 1.10 – Fighting the Undertow

May 4, 2015 by J. Thorn Leave a Comment

1.10 – Fighting the Undertow –
In his final appearance in this volume of Dark Arts Theater, Dan Padavona (Storberry, Shadow Witch) returns to talk about an enigmatic, mysterious and powerful band, Tool. He tells his story of driving from upstate New York to the Jersey Shore to see the band during their meteoric rise in the mid-90s, and we both share our thoughts on the album that broke Tool, Undertow. David Wright (Yesterday’s Gone, Crash) and I indulge in more zombie talk as we remember the new classic 28 Days Later. Boris Karloff climbs out of his coffin to share the disturbing short story, “Nightmare,” and the spaced-out, heavy riffage has been provided courtesy of Dozer and Small Stone Records.
